Fighting against all odds and with audacity of hope women is changing the world. The views regarding the women thoughts are gradually changing. They are emerging as the powerful inception to all issues relating to change and renunciation.
Indians have always bowed down before women power. The Goddesses Durga, Kali, Saraswati personifies strength and determination and devotion. They are worshipped and believed to conquer the evil forces, so the growth of women power can be felt in this modern day as well.
Centuries have passed by since then. And as the time moved on the participation by the womenfolk also came into the scene emerging from the age old tradition. The tradition that was prevalent of keeping them aside and binding them with only household chores. Sixty years after Independence women now are economically independent, their thoughts have been transformed, they are now more educated and have come forward accepting challenging careers.
Compared to their male counterpart they can be even tougher and effective decision makers. We had great women leaders like Indira Gandhi, Margaret Thatcher, Srimavo Bandernaike, Benazir Bhutto. Each of them has left her mark of authority in all her dealings. At present as well we have a large group of women leaders like Pratibha Patel, Sonia Gandhi, Sheikh Hasina Wazed, Mehbooba Mufti Sayeed, Jayalalithaa Jayaram, Mayawati who are the strong pillars in the matters of exerting the democratic power.
Women are the icons of power and change. In the field of art and culture as well women have an extraordinary input. Lata Mangeshkar is lovingly called on as the nightingale of India for her contribution to Indian vocal. Astronauts Kalpana Chawla and Sunita Williams. Meera Nair, Aparna Sen, Shabana Azmi, Aishwairya Rai, Sushmita Sen and so many of them who succesfully have acclaimed international recognition in the field of cinema. Jhumpa Lahiri, Arundhati Roy grabbed awards for their excellency in English literature. Medha Patkar and Mahashweta Devi fought against BJP in Gujarat, against CPM in Nandigram issue. Women from the times immemorial have greatly devoted themselves to claim a niche for themselves.
Both men and women are equal citizens in the eyes of the law. But this is far from the reality. India ranks 115th of 162 countries in terms of gender development. There exists discrimination in the parliamentary positions where only 45 members of the Lok Sabha’s 542 seats are women and in the Rajya Sabha only 28 of 242 seats are held by women. Parliament has repeatedly witnessed ugly political exchanges and male power battles over the Women’s Reservation Bill, proposing 33.3% reservation for women. If the bill is enacted the existing 545 seats in the Lok Sabha will increase to 900. Planning has been repeatedly done but never has the solution actually being put forth and has never arrived at a consensus. There are certain such major issues like inequality in wage structure in work places where gender injustice can be seen. Problems are many and have to be sorted out with determined motive of attaining equal justice about the concerned areas.
As per human development indices countries like Sweden Norway Finland and Denmark have the highest representation of women in Parliament with 45%, 38%, 37%, 36% respectively. Whereas India is still reluctant to accept the fact that women when in power can be of great help. In the Parliamentary dealings it’s a new start like including the women candidates. Brinda Karat, became the first woman member of the CPI(M) Politburo. New faces like Priya Dutt, Supriya Sule, Priyanka Gandhi have emerged in new form of strength.
This active participation and performance shows that woman have come out successfully conquering up the odds and presenting herself unto a new dawn. Women politicos are heading the states and raising issues in the opposition. They successfully have changed public agendas, reduced corruption and improved the governance turning it to an egalitarian state of ruling. The greater representation of women in Parliament could certainly make a world of difference.
When women can head banks and corporations, why not let them give rights to run important ministries such as Defence, Home, Finance, and Commerce. Today the country needs a change. It needs a strong and faithful leader to emerge from the gloomy tactics of Indian politics, trample all those evil and tricky forces, and take the country to a path of glory… An approach where first priority lies on the policy of redefining the public requisites. And not the one who forgets his rights once the ballot has been cast…!!

We know how honest women are when they drafted the Domestic violence act, which is nothing but a tool to extort money from men. Several women have misued the act and have extorted money and property from hubbies. Many men have committed suicide. Every year, 57000 married men are committing suicide due to harassment by their wives. So much for honesty. Forget the cultal factors. Culture has changed.

Yes, we need to amend the alimony act, child custody act, domestic violence act, dowry act, adultery act and many more laws to ensure that men can also claim equality with women. Equality is being misused by women to make the system their way. hence, we men have to pay it both ways. Women are taking the advantages of tradition of modernity. Where is the equality if laws are pro-women? Let women stand at the border and sacrifice their lives. Why can’t they do it? They want equality when it comes to cosy jobs but want men to take the lead when it comes to dangerous jobs. This is fraud.

Listen to the government official explain that because of the horrible attitudes of Indian men towards females, they kill them at such a rate there is now only 816 females for every 1000 males in his community. He says the dowry is also to blame because men extort money from the brides family for years and then set fire to the women if they are not paid enough. He also says the the violence and abuse that these men subject females to is so great that many women are choosing not to marry.

Women always ran the world through the backseat. They made the men perform all the difficult tasks at a time when the threat from nature was very large and providing food was not easy as it is today. There were no complaints of inequality then and women were happy to have men provide for them while they enjoyed being within the four walls or gathering food which the men hunted. Its only now and because threat from nature has decreased to zero and machines are there to perform work. So, its a joke to say that men always ruled. Yes, they did at various times. MANILA, Philippines—A high-ranking Vatican official currently in Manila has warned of the erosion of manhood and the “crisis in fatherhood” that have resulted in millions of children worldwide without a father or enjoying emotionally healthy relations with one.
German Cardinal Paul Josef Cordes, president of the Pontifical Council “Cor Unum,” the Vatican dicastery (or administrative agency) on charity, aid and relief, blamed “gender mainstreaming” and “radical feminism” for attacking biological manhood and insisting that “sexual roles are learned.”
He said men are demeaned and what is held up as an ideal is a man who is feminized and emasculated, one who, in a European study, is held up to be “a sweeter man.”
Fatherhood in crisis
“Is male identity then nothing other than a product of a special culture and the consequences of social circumstances?” Cordes asked in his speech, “Fatherhood-An Auxiliary Role?”, which was his doctorate address Friday after receiving an honorary doctorate in theology from the Pontifical University of Santo Tomas.
The doctoral hat and cape were bestowed by UST Rector Magnificus and former Commission on Higher Education chairman Fr. Rolando V. de la Rosa, O.P.
Witnessing it were German Ambassador Christian Ludwig Weber Lortsch, Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines president Archbishop Angel Lagdameo, CHEd chair Emmanuel Angeles, and former Philippine Ambassador to the Vatican Henrietta de Villa, who is now consultor of the pontifical agency headed by Cordes.
‘The new man’
Cordes said statistics around the world “confirm that today the self-understanding of manhood and especially fatherhood is in crisis.”
He said a Catholic Charities survey in the United States showed that 24 million children are living in homes without a father. He said “fatherless boys are twice as likely to be in prison; they are more likely to drop out or be expelled from school; they account for 63 percent of suicides, and 90 percent of those who run away from home.”
He said in his own country, the German newspaper Frankfurther Allgemeinen, ran a story with the headline, “The Insecure Man.”
Cordes blamed the loss of manhood and fatherhood to liberal and secularistic legislations to invent “the new man.”
“We have grown accustomed to hearing about legislation undermining the role of the father, such as adoption by gay so-called ‘parents,’” Cordes said. “A bill passed recently in Britain (‘Human Fertilization and Embryology Bill of 2008’) allows two lesbians or single mothers to conceive a child without a father; all that is needed is ‘supportive parents.’
Some newspapers hailed this as ‘the end of fatherhood.’”
He said a survey of German universities recently showed that while there were 98 university chairs “for deepening questions on womanhood,” only one existed for men.
“In Europe, psychologists and anthropologists have labored to diminish masculinity,” Cordes said. “New investigations such as that published by the Council of Europe in 1998 claim that the ‘new man’ is ‘sweeter.’
Men and fathers should be led to become more like women and mothers in their behavior and reactions. They also advocated ‘flexibility of the sexes’ in the education of children.
Cordes said the erosion of manhood and fatherhood has a negative impact on “boys’ self-understanding,” adding that even girls form their self-understanding by their relationship with fathers and men.

Fathers are “an anchor for us in cases of loss and danger,” said the German prelate. When children try to carve out their own autonomous existence from their parents, it is the father they look up to.
“From the presence of the male body, something is transmitted to the ‘I’ that makes the child blossom,” Cordes said. “Whoever as an individual has never been generated or raised in the way by his father or his fathers will have a limited self-esteem.”
Cordes said the loss of masculinity and the crisis in fatherhood have bearing on Christianity, which calls God as Father. “The lack of a human father makes it difficult to grasp Jesus’s teaching on the heavenly Father,” he said.
